Whole30: Sample Day
I'm on my last week of the Whole30 so I decided to share a sample day with you. It seems overwhelming at first to uphaul your diet like this but it really isn't THAT hard. I promise. I'm a full time doctorate student, who teaches yoga on the side occasionally, works out 6 days a week and still attempts to have a social life. You can do it too.
The key for me is to meal prep on Sundays for the week. The more prep I do, the better my week goes and the less stressed I am. It does take a lot of time to cook various meals for the week but it's worth it in the long run.
So here you go: A sample of my day today.
Lemon Water, White Tea & Kombucha
Hash fries of sorts: Roasted red potatoes and roasted sweet potatoes
2 eggs scrambled
Frank's Hot Sauce
Sometimes I add a half a avocado or some homemade guacamole
Chicken & Vegetable Chili (I have been looking for the recipe but can't remember where I got it from!!)
A few ounces of homemade almond milk
Paleo Buffalo Chicken Soup (I modified it a bit too my liking ** leave out the honey for the Whole30**)
Sauteed Kale with garlic and onion seasoning
Carrot Cake Larabar
Strawberries & Raspberries
Some Almond Butter (new favorite thing!)
(whole30 approved brand in Market basket- buy in bulk!!)
Taste tested some of the tuna I made for lunch later in the week
Today I was a little hungrier than I have been in the past few days/weeks and I think I didn't have enough protein overall. I worked out after class and I have been the entire time on the Whole30 so I feel like I have been eating a lot. But I also have felt really good-- I have felt slimmer and less bloated. I haven't weighed myself yet so I don't know if I've actually lost weight but I do feel good. Plan for tomorrow is to add a little bit more protein into my day-- some more chicken, a little tuna at lunch.
Other than that, I'm going to keep on keeping on. I'm loving what I'm eating and plan on continuing with only a few adjustments.
