Friday Favorites 11.11

Here are a few of my favorite things:

Reading: History of Wild Places Shea Ernshaw is next up on my list. I haven't started it yet as I am reading another book I am not sure how I feel yet so I am giving it a little bit more of a chance (The Witch in the Well). I abolsutley LOVED Spells for Forgetting by Adrienne Young and I think it falls into my top 5 of all time (if you count Harry Potter Series as one book lol!)

Tea: Give me all the chamomile vibes RN. As winter approaches, I get more excited for warm tea throughout the day. There is something cozy about writing and doing work while drinking tea. I have also decided to take inventory of our homegrown dried herbs so I can start to experiment with new tea blends— hopefully soon I will have some good recipes to share

Skin: I used to use my DIY body scrub ALL the time but somehow in the move, it is something that I forgot about. There are actually quite a few self care things I used to do a lot that I haven't since moving- hair masks, face masks, body scrubs. I think I am just so in love with my bathtub, I forgot about everything else. Anyway, I started making and using my DIY body scrub again and my skin is LOVING it.

Nourishment: As you know by now, I am definitely not the cook in the family. Chris seriously is going to need to write a Feel Good Recipe book for you all (and me, let's be real). Recently he made Split Pea Soup with bacon bits and OH MAN, it was so nourishing and delicious. Who wants the recipe?

Rituals: As I mentioned in my latest blog post, lately I have been struggling with my morning routine. All summer and early fall I had a pretty good rhythm but with the colder days and darker mornings, I have been having a hard time getting my butt out of bed. So, I decided to change it up. Now, I give myself space to ease into my morning. I keep my coziest sweatpants and sweater next to my bad and throw them on. Next up, feet in the grass while the water heats up for lemon water. Then I cozy up in my reading nook/library and journal, meditate, gratitude whatever flows through. I finish up with dry brushing in a cold shower right before I head into my work day. The switch up as been really amazing.

Listening: I made two new playlists for my yoga classes this month that I am super into. For my flow class, I have Moody November and for my sculpt class, I have Deep Feels Sculpt. I have also been listening to the sound of Ice singing by Jonna Jinton (This is a youtuber one of my clients showed me and she has some magical seasonal videos.

Bath: Nothing new hear, I'm still in love with my bathtub. I am also looking on facebook marketplace and craiglist for a clawfoot bathtub for my garden. Cold plunge potential and summer bath potential..... yeah, I'm going to be that girl.

Movement: HOT YOGA and daily yoga. I love yoga, as you probably could have guessed but I have fallen out of a routine. I know from the past few years taht when I practice a yoga 2-3 times a week my body REALLY loves it. My intention for this month is to practice TWO in studio hot yoga classes a week and do 10 minutes of intuitive yoga day. So far so good— my body and mind love it. If you're in the berkshires, come check me out at Greenhouse Yoga in Great Barrington.

What have you been loving lately friends?
