ONLINE INjury Screening & Fitness Evaluations

Originally written in May of 2019— an old service that I am bringing back in March of 2023!! I love keeping the essence of new posts because they show where I’ve been and also where my passion have always been.

Happy May friends! May is my favorite month— mostly because it is mine and Chris’s birthday month. Although I recently read in a book that May is the pre-game, the pre-party to the summer and I LOVE that. May is the start of my favorite time of the year: the summer.  May is a time for hope, for new beginnings and fresh starts. I don’t know if it’s the freshness of spring or my birthday but May is also a time of reflection for me.

As I sit here and reflect about the start of 2019, I can’t believe how much time has passed since I sat down at the New Year and set my goals.  I already know deep down that 2019 is going to be a great year for me, my relationships, my career and my business.  How do I know this? Because, I am going to make it happen.

But first, the reflections:

2018 was a HUGE year of growth for me. And let me tell you, the growing pains were REAL. Each month held a different set of intentions, a different set of things that I needed to focus on for my mental and physical health.  Each month might have had slightly similar intentions but each month was also different. 2018 was the year that I graduated from graduate school. It was the year that Chris and I went on a month long trip in Betty and when I started my first Physical Therapy job. It was the year I felt my worst and my best. I dealt with chronic fatigue and gut health issues. I learned A LOT about my body and myself. I learned a lot about the field of Physical Therapy: what I loved, what I hated, what I wanted to do, what I didn’t want to do. Chris went on tour and I learned how strong we were, and how strong I was. I grew a lot and if I learned one thing only, it was I was stronger and more capable than I thought I could ever be. With that strength, comes a vision.

While 2018 was a year for growth, 2019 is the year of expansion.  I have so many ideas that have been brewing in my head that I have had a hard time writing them all down and solidifying them.  I’ve realized that at the end of the day that thoughts and writing things out are all well and good but the best thing is ACTION. And 2019 is calling for real action, real expansion. And the first piece of action was quitting my corporate job so I can create more space, energy and happiness to serve you better. So I did, much sooner than expected but I did it. It was the best decision I ever made and one of the hardest decisions I could have made.

One of my biggest goals in life is to help as many people feel as good in their body as possible.  And after a couple of months of NOT feeling good in my body, I truly value how important it is to feel good in your body in order to live a happy life.

I want to help each and everyone one of YOU to feel good in your body. and that is why I am now offering Online Injury Prevention and Fitness Coaching Consultations to better suit your needs.

WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?

Whether you are nursing a chronic injury, just had a sudden injury or want to prevent a future injury, I got you!  Together we can create a routine that will help your body feel good now and keep your body in that feel good state.

WHO IS THIS FOR?

I know so many athletes in my life who are nursing “injuries” and not getting help because they don’t want to stop their activities of choice.

Like my roommate who told me that she took “active rest” as go hike the continental divide but didn’t have the recovery tactics she needed to cope after the hike…..Now, I am not promising you can hike the continental divide right away but I am telling you that I can help you stay active and in control of your pain.

I’m talking to you rock climbers, hikers, runners, skiiers, mountain bikers, yogis, aerialists. I see you working through those minor aches and pains because you love your sport of choice and you don’t want to stop. . I know you have gone to medical professionals who have told you to just stop running or that you will never hike again. I also know that you usually don’t listen to those medical professionals.

I am talking to you post college athletes.  The ones who spent their WHOLE lives getting in shape for their sport. Who had training programs created for them, athletic trainers to ask questions, teammates to workout with.  The ones who are feeling a little lost after graduating college and not knowing 100% where you fit in the wild west of the fitness world.

HOW DO I KNOW THIS? WELL, I’M ONE OF YOU.

AND I want to help YOU.

WHY?

Because I truly believe that by living good you can feel good.  I also truly believe that a little bit of consistency and self care can go a long way.

I know how overwhelming healthcare can be and I know how upsetting being in pain can be.  And I am here to help. I want to simplify the process for you. I want to arm you with information that is going to help you be the best athlete you can be.  I want to help you feel good in your body!

Because really, who doesn’t want to feel good?
